There will come a day
When human contact will
No longer be a necessity.
Until then, we continue
To ignore the signs:

The heads bowed
The fumbling fingers
The dark rooms with
One blaring light
Shining upon an
Expressionless face.

"Good nights" and "I love you's"
Will only be seen (never heard)
On a manufactured device
That seems to carry the world.
The natural mysteries of
The earth will be forgotten.
Heads will forever face down.
