"You'll never miss your water till your wale runs dry"

Dark light night skies
Shadows walking in day
And dark ghost at night
Taking away all color
Everyone wanted yellowbones
Blank unwritten paper
Wanting salsa dancers and Hindus
Different chinky eyed people
Forgetting about those who picked cotton in hot suns
Dark-skin baking
Not allowed cool breeze in houses
Jokes of color to them who aren't
Teased and bullied for looking like tar
Banded from parties
Uninvited because of unnormal complexion
The pain of dark-skin can't be explain
Unspoken words of something no one wants
T.v and rap videos introduce light yellowbones
Dark-skinned bones in background
Abstinence to everyone's eyes
Laughing and story telling of those who hide from the darkness
Following photos of past that contribute to darkness in heart
Publically rediculed by those who don't know
Because times have changed for us
The ones of my kind....Black

The author's comments:
This poem was inspired by myself on slavery and struggles that black people alone have been through and even in my generation, what's still continuing.
