Broken Child
Sitting alone in that corner so quiet
She sits and she cries,
In her eyes, there’s no light
Broken doll, inside so hollow
Eyes stare into forever
She grins a smile so soft, so shallow
Girl so loved, girl so alone
Seen by all the world
Happy and at peace, while inside she moans
Empty expression
Lost all hope
Has not life’s protection
Worn down by hateful actions
She hasn’t any strength
No longer, pain causes any reaction
Her tears express isolation
Cries as one who let life break her
Her soul has no destination
Life took her love
Gave it to all others
Like feeling just her pain wasn’t enough
Forced to carry the burden
Of feeling everyone’s hurt
Even with her own emotions uncertain
So she sits in her isolated world
Surrounded by those who care
Forever secluded, this lonely, broken child
