I am a good person
I do my duty honestly
I obey my teachers
I love my parents
I am good to my friends
I say "Thank you “where there be need
And "Sorry" when I am wrong .

I do all this and much more

Because I hate being punished

Or being stared at with frowns

Or being called to explain things.

Children have their own worlds
Their own fancies, their own guts
So I want some freedom
Freedom to be different
Freedom to be a little rude
And freedom to be wrong too .

But these elders have
Bagfulls of punishment reasons
Always finding faults
Always finding reasons to punish
As if their fancies are 'His will' .

Oh God ! Send my wishes

To the elders of the world

And tell them

How much I hate being punished

How much I love being pampered

And how much I like being at my own.

I was in the mood for writing, and my friend came in the room because she was upset about something. This got me inspired and this is what I wrote about.
