Blessed With Happiness
I look around my small town
So many girls
But so few are truly happy
I see the scars on their wrists
I see them smile with their mouths
But not their eyes
They cover their stomachs as they change in the locker room
Unsuccessfully trying to hide what they seem to be so ashamed of
I can spot them right away
So young
Yet so aware of their flaws
I wish I could help them
Show them that they deserve to be happy
That the opinion of others really doesn’t matter
That everyone is made to be different
But for now
I’ll live my own happy life
Go through my own everyday struggles
And hope that some day
After high school
All the girls with the broken smiles
Will become whole again
