I once was young
I once had dreams
Dreams that I could become a famous musician
Dreams of having a family
But being a musician cannot play the bills
Being a musician cannot provide you with shelter
For all it has gotten me is poor old and black
For all it has gotten me is dreams that I lack
But yet I never sold my guitar
I hope to still gain my dream
So I will just sit and play
Because I still believe
