Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.

"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right"
- Henry Ford

With age my engine leaks
My leather seats begin to crack
My voice loses its sound
And my paint chips and peels
I was once adored and taken care of so well
Now I’m on my way to the junkyard
The beauty I once relied on has sabotaged me
I never had any other purpose
I didn’t venture into racing
Or get in a movie
And now instead of some eternal remembrance…
I am lost
I am trapped
My beauty has faded and all that is left is ‘garbage’
I will sit in a junkyard and my old owner will stare
Nostalgic of my better days
But once I get sent to my demise
Nothing
I become but another strap of metal thrown by the waste side

The author's comments:
I intentionally used the wrong waste (should be waist side) due to its meaning in the poem. The poem is about the realization that in life we have to create meaningful contributions in order to leave a lasting impact.
