who you are
Does she notice the things that I do?

 Ask her if she sees the
 myriad of stars that
 Light your eyes
 Or the flowers blooming
 in your mind,
 fertilized by the pressure to be perfect.

 Will she ever know the
 depths of your passion
 or the way your heart
 lights a fire in those surrounding you?

 I only want to be the
 moon for you;
 lulling you to sleep, nightly
 drawing the waves onto the shore.
 I want to be your smile,
 the gentleness in your fingertips
 and the sweet words
 spilling from your lips.
