"My Biggest Fans"
“My biggest fans”
They call me
Dyke.
Because of my short hair.
I am who I am.
Society teaches us how to be normal.
What is normal?
I don’t fit the definition.
I am who I am.
I don’t wear the same clothes
Or listen to the same music.
Some people find this empowering.
I am who I am.
They say I’m not the same me.
The words ooze from their mouth.
“Grow out your hair!”
I am who I am.
They spit the words at me like a tornado
Not knowing the damage being caused.
They don’t care.
And neither do I.
I am who I am.
I am my own self.
Nobody can tell me otherwise.
So get over it because
I am who I am.
