Depression
A lonely child
A pair of star crossed lovers swapping words of hate and spite.
A screaming muffled cry in the darkness surrounded by light.
The broken harmonies of the saddest song.
Like the broken promises that follow along.
And with the tip of the day dripping with weary moonlight
He tattoos himself with blood.
For life is his knife,
As he shrouds himself in black,
hoping to hide from the sunlight.
The looks and the stares know of his name,
For it's the bitter-sweet nothings
maybe the chill of the rain.
He's sweet ambrosia that tolerates the bitter pain.
He's the snake in the garden that guards and awaits,
the day you slip as life screams
"Its too much!!"
And you feel no more pain-
For it's not with you,
but left behind
with the ones you loved;
as they wonder why
"why?!?" Oh they cry,
"what did i do wrong?!"
Their cries and wails pierce the night
As they throw flowers at a grey stone in a graveyard site.
The father swallows the moons shine
just to bury pain,
the mother rocks back and forth in a constant sway.
The brother lies there and stares at the knife,
For the monster within has another in it's sight.
