Water Cycle
I wake up from a dream that I recall
hazily, but it’s fading fast
and the moment is clear as glass.
I feel light, liberated
like a thread of vapor
rising up, drifting through other foggy swirls
until all joins together in the sky
like a billow of weightless cotton.
The journey continues, it begins to rain
upward, toward the stars and space and
the heavens, the mass again pieced into
miniscule strands and everything melts, soothed
into watery wisps, pooling
together.
I cannot remember what once was
my reality streamlined into
the feeling
that is indescribable
but warm, loving.
A single river has formed
and I suddenly know
the purpose
of life, death, everything.
Satisfied, I let go,
no longer a single drop
but the entire vast collective
and all its knowledge,
floating in a shimmering stream
of euphoric understanding.
