What Happened
to the I spent
wrapped in the warmth of your arms
as if the sun rose and never set
all for me
yet the moon rose
eclipsing the sun
and although i saw the change
i tried to act as if the warmth
was from the same rays
until finally
the warmth was gone entirely
having sunk into my skin
but not into yours
yur fingertips traced patterns on my skin
leaving marks as if
a child had drawn on me
but i cant wash them off
and theyre growing on
their own
in the night
while i sleep
your footprints appear
on the inside of my
eyelids
when i wake
they escape
in the form of tears
what happened.
