Bright Scars
All my constellations—
 Every single one—
 They burst from fiery borders
 Into dazzling, into song
 Each night of gazing—
 Neck aching—
 And drumbeats in warm veins—
 Cannot compare to this second
 To freckles forming constellations
 Scars where lines are drawn
 This starry sky
 cannot be contained
 Death now and sweetness endures
Pain shall form a shallow lamp
Just the lights, and the sight—
 Duteously bracing
 My leave
