Tiny black head,
a speck in an ocean of bladed grass
looks forward
to view a life's last light
in midst of giant's shadow.
Firm foot fractured
in flood of poison spray.
Family torn
in toxic tears.
A battle's shame lost in rain.
For only hands and feet remain
on brick walkway.
To be carried away
on old ant's back.
