The Unknown
Why do we fear the unknown?
Is it simply because we do not know?
Or is it because we think we do,
And the nameless phantoms in our minds drive us mad?
Or do we fear because we do not know what these shadows can do;
What they are capable of?
No.
I believe we are afraid because we do not know what WE are capable of.
We have forgotten that we can overcome,
And that, indeed, we will,
If only we would face the darkness and proclaim
“I will conquer you.”
It is not you who should fear the unknown.
The unknown should fear you.
