Hope is There

I sit here
pondering the thought of it
it's always there
though you may not know it
it follows you and all your actions
guiding your thoughts
it leads them towards your goal
it determines you
it makes you set expectations
it's both fantastic and terrible
sometimes it's negative
most times it's positive
but whatever it is to you
never forget its power
for it can change a person's life
in a good way or bad
it knows your weaknesses
and strengths, too
it can take control
handle it with care
for when a wish is made
hope is there.
