Darkness
We look into the darkness,
Fearing what we see in blindness.
Dancing mongrels taunt us to join,
Their playful culture promising coin.
Imagination runs violently wild,
Bringing out the fear of a child.
Panic ensues within those who subside,
To the harmless darkness we use to hide.
We fear less the more we know,
Giving reason to infantile woes.
But even when we know it all,
The darkness returns to see us fall.
