My eyes slowly slip off to sleep
finally they rest after a long day
no longer do they witness anything
but the dark insides of eyelids

My body soon becomes still
it now drifts into a sweet slumber
able to lose all of it’s worries of work
only thoughts of rest remain

My ears still active but
the silence gives them no tasks
the only audible noises are the sounds of night
and that is overlooked

My mind awakes free to roam
now it is liberated to explore all of imagination
presently able to create anything of it's choosing
no longer are it’s thoughts constrained
able to escape all fears of reality
