Silent Words
I long to say those words
They sit impatiently on my tongue
I've said it before
Four times to be exact
Now I'm afraid to say it any more
You say that they're just words
But you just don't understand
"I love you" is expressed through many different ways
It's whispered through my fingers as I graze your hand at lunch
It's written across my arms and chest as I hold you tightly
It shines in my eyes as I watch you quietly listen to music
It's engraved on your skin as I trace lines along your leg
The words hang silently in my mouth, always
Begging to be released
To show you how much you really mean to me
But instead I shut my lips and keep quiet
Because I know you're afraid
Afraid to lose it all
But you could never lose me
For I am way too in love with you
And you make me the happiest that I could ever possibly be
