I need time,
I need bravery,
I need to get away
from this awful place

The thoughts and
The pain inside
I cover so well
With this crooked smile

That for a moment
I convinced myself
That everything
Could be okay again

But then i breathed in
The air contaminated
From the darkness
Of my heart

And realized
I could never go back
To the place
I once was before

Not with my
Dark and damaged;
broken and bruised;
barley beating heart
