Mockingbird
On the outskirts of the thick dreams,
the mockingbird observes
and waits,
waits for the righteous kiss,
never in hopes of passion.
Oh how he condescends the prophesied
destiny of an average human,
the destiny of a haphazard love.
How he sighs at the choice of suicide,
as he waits, waits in distaste.
The mockingbird will never
see,
the budding love,
how forgiving and free.
