he was never much for dancing.
 She tried to get him to hold her hand,
 but he wouldn't.
 he kept his knees turned inward
 feet turned outward
 pranced on every step
 like he was halted on holy ground
 
 she kissed his cheek in July
 kissed his lips in August
 and kissed his introversion goodbye
 in late September.
