With Absence Comes Escape
Her name
Her name is all I can think about
Any other memory is to painful
Too hurtful
Too beautiful
She was my first love
My first friend that one day decided I wasn't hers anymore
Without a goodbye
Without a hug
just a note
A note so vague it left more questions than answers
Clips of her are still there
Still in my head that is
Clips of her hair being pushed into a ponytail
Clips of her smile
And sometimes I can hear her laugh
But these clips are starting to fade
She was my first friend
But she was also my first kiss
She was not just an experiment
But an experience that left me trembling
Dancing with stars
And with her I was happy
We danced in the rain on our walks home
Grocery bags full of candy
And our lips meeting while rain slid across our cheeks
I loved her
And maybe thats what drove her away
But I have to hang on to these clips
Or else
I’ll forget of her
Just as she forgot of me
