Beacon of Hope

a cave so dark that it thought it couldn’t see light
has been taken over
by a breath of hope
a tiny crack in the ceiling has started to show
a golden beam shining through the gloom
illuminating a tiny plot of earth
where a green bulb is shown
peeping it’s head through the black
a beacon of love
the cave cracked before it could shine
and maybe, that is a lesson
for the rest of us
sometimes, if we are close to giving up
we need to realize
we need to break, before we can shine
