As I sit outside on the old, rusty swing set,
the one I have not payed attention to in many years,
I am removed from my daily routine
The air is cold as it brushes across my face, and the sounds are close to none
The only sounds I hear are my breath and the noise from the rusty chains that hold my forgotten childhood memories
As they squeak, I begin to think back to all the games and laughs I shared there,
Thoughts are automatically transformed from thoughts about college to those of a simpler time
Nature served as a wakeup call,
I realized that stepping back and having a good laugh every once in a while is important
The nature reminded me of the peaceful and stress free life that I had left whenever I entered my house to worry about school
While I was outside I felt like a completely new person, no longer restrained
Nature provided me with a sense of freedom, it gave me the opportunity to be free by avoiding the standards and regulations that Common Core inflicted on my everyday life
The cold air, peaceful sounds, and memories let me express myself in a unique way
I automatically felt at peace and free
I felt refreshed and reenergized, almost like a new person
