Riiiiing! Sit! Attention, please.
No cares are given.
The day begins insurmountably mundane.

Riiiiing! Sit! Attention, please.
The process repeats, again and again
Never ending, unrelenting

“You fail to meet our expectations!”
Desperate voices yell
Apathetic faces stare

“Why are you unprepared for the work force?”
The tyrannical school
Continues to denounce its own shortcomings

“We need to improve our test scores!”
More irrelevant homework added
More hours spent wasting time

Fatigue sets in
Heads fall onto desks
Tensions rise

“Lift your heads up! This is not your house!”
Eight hours spent in this building.
That’s more time than at home

“You fail to manage your time!”
Yet each night is spent awake ‘til the 11th hour
Doing the extraneous assignments

The pressure becomes overwhelming
Each and every day, the stress builds
It starts to become too much

I start to wonder,
“To what extent must I go
to satisfy your expectations!?”

Riiiiing! Sit! Attention, please.
