Why? Or Why Not?

I am an expert actor.
I act as though I like people,
As though I care what they think,
Or what they want,
But I don't.
I act as though they matter to me,
And that if they were gone
That I'd be sad,
Even though I wouldn't.
There are truly very few people who matter to me.
Why does everyone think they are part of that elite group?
Why does everyone think they are part of a group?
Why does everyone think they know what I know?
Why does everyone think they know me?
Why does everyone think?
Why think?
Why?
