I Want

I just want to lay my ear on someone's chest
feel like I'm loved, like I matter, I'm the best.
I want someone to run their hand down the length of my spine
pull me close, make me shiver, tell me I'm fine.
I don't mean to sound greedy
I swear I'm not needy.
I just feel like I'm lacking a feeling of importance.
I want to feel like I matter
I want to be told I'm beautiful
and I want someone to mean it.
