My Six
Feet digging into the mud
sinking farther & farther
each second.
Carrying my best friend
over my shoulder
to safety.
Bang - bang guns screaming
above the deep trenches.
Teeth grinding,
Sweat pouring
as I watch my six.
Red from the wounded
becomes
more & more
popular each day,
I’m here in this place
they call
war.
Every day,
Every moment,
Every Second,
I wait in this death trap
I know coming home
is getting less
& less
true.
Another day
every man for
them self.
A place
believed to be hell,
trying to survive
watching my six
