Strategic Love
I drum my fingers to the irregular heart beat
Of my Thoughts.
So often they encompass your being.
As I scan through the files of my mind,
As I come across all the words-
Letters. Numbers. Pictures-Memories that are you.
Like the depiction of data-
I fall in love strategically.
Through calculations of the senses
I learn your soft sighs through the sightless scene
Of Darkness.
Combined with the incense of passion.
Your delicacy of skin has taught me
The Ambiguity of Beauty.
I’ve learned the lessons of lips.
And I’ve learned that I knew nothing at all.
So as we run through the technicalities
Of Formations,
I fall in love strategically.
Formulas. Equations. Abstractions of Emotions.
I follow through the motions.
And in your presence my mind makes a little more sense.
My confusion and delusion turns into absolution
As you take my hand,
I fall in love strategically.
