You can tell the world
that you're a soldier.
And you can tell the world
that you're leaving.
But while you're waving goodbye,
you tell me that it's over,
but I'll be getting closer.
You can't leave me behind
without a word.
I notice all the agony
when I look into your eyes.
All the pain and suffering,
I remember.
You still want to fly
when you're undercover.
You don't want me to
experience your misery.
You're going off to make a change,
But, you can't leave me behind
without a word.
