Why am I not good enough for you?
Because of you there is no me.
I am not myself, nor
what you want me to be
I am The Inbetween
The space between the heavens
and Earth; the sea and sand;
a shade of grey
I don't want to blend in
I wouldr ather stand out
Like a beautiful peacock
with emerald leaves growing about
Sprouting from stone cold
turquoise sees
But once you pick through my plumes
Dissecting each feather too soon
I can no longer fly
I just float by
stranded; why?
I am The Inbetween
And that's all I'll ever meen.
