Misery
Misery
This life of mine
It has a limited time
Before the thing that keeps me alive
Also decides to end my life
My heart is the thing I despise
Causing me pain on the inside
Where now I am forced
To put a smile on all day long
Even though all I want to do is run
But that is just fun for my heart
Making me fall apart
Over things that I love
And this pain is now simply a glove
That I wear every day
And have no chance to slip it off
Cause then it wouldn’t remind me of the cost
Of love and hope
That fills me with lies of both
But now I wait for the day to come
Where I run out of stuff to go wrong
And begin to feel like King-Kong
On top of the world
But what is the point
Of living a lie that I know
A lie that I think I’m happy
And think I belong in this time
This lie is chasing me
Knocking on the foot of my front door
I’m now old enough to run
But I’m not hiding anymore
Done with hiding from this devil inside
Inside of all of us
That we decide to leave
And pretend we are happy as can be
But now I’m here
At the gateway of hell
The hell of my life
That has made me sharper than a knife
Sharp enough to know the risk
And know that I’m always chasing bliss
But at the door I wait
Fighting the decision that I came all this way
To confront and end
And now this thing is turning my regret into agony
And this has to end
Before my bending backwards
Snaps me in half
And I sit here as the gateway of hell
Opens its arms
And consumes me whole
As I walk through this valley of death
I wear a crown of these thorns
And wear this look of scorn
Scorn at the lies of happiness
Scorn at how I ended up all alone
And it’s hard to breathe
When you’re down this far
Leaving the virtue of life
And then living with the shame
Of the monster I have become
And knowing that I can turn to go back
But deciding to turn my back
To the light of the world
That has lite a path
For me to walk away
From the virtue of pity
But to live with the shame
And that isn’t what I want
To have always lost the fight
For this pursuit of happiness
And this cost is endless
But here I am at the end of the road
Gazing into the abyss of life
The abyss that we have all been deceived
To believe that it’s not here
And that it’s just something made from fear
This is the end of the line
And now I’m running out of time
