The Crevice

The space between the beds,
Is big enough for one to be trapped inside
But too small to build a childish fort.
Stories of heroes, blood shed, and
Powerful kings who stood aside as
Foreign ships unload into the congested ports.
Tales of the deadly kraken–
Demolished vessels and sucked away faces
From all those innocent souls.
These tales from the crack within
Don't leave an outside trace
The Crevice laying bare like an empty bowl.
