Stranger

I am a stranger.
To conform is to lie
To give up is to die.
My own difference is
The spirit that makes me fly.
I used to fit in,
I wanted to win
Acceptance from others
To be one of them.
Now I am sane
No longer plain.
I choose my own path
I am not the same.
As I stretch down the road I pave
I think of people I could save.
They had no time
For words that I gave.
To conform is to lie
To give up is to die.
My own difference is
The spirit that makes me fly.
I am a stranger.
