Sweet Destruction
Oh the horror—
So much blood.
He, the warrior,
Who fell in love
And took me to the place
Where our end will soon begin.
I kissed him, admiring the sweet taste,
All the while he is dreaming of a sin.
Our hearts soared like birds—
Then he stepped away
“To be human is to love” are his words.
“And we are human,” I quickly say
He strikes me down, I cower.
“But to love is to destroy.” He growls
I look to the sky and it glowers
He steps closer, in his eyes a frown
For once I truly believe
That if he really cares,
That I will cease to breathe
I succumb to his sweet glare,
Knowing that my death is just
Symbolic of his love
He leaves me breathless…
And I know he is mine.
My sweet Destruction.
