I Come From
I come from
I come from the womb of Creashea Beeks
On December 10th 1997 at 5 o’clock in the morning
On December 13th 1997
Brought to the 3floor, 5bedroom home on Kilbourne and Chalmers
Given to my mom from my great-grandma
Welcomed home to 2uncles, 1sister and cousins
Happy to see the member of the family and home
I come from a happy home
A home where I learned how to walk, talk and do everything I know how to do today
I come from a home that ended when I was 8
I come from a strong woman who always worked two jobs and went to school
Who always put others first
I come from a man who always took care of others
A man who cherish his daughters
A man who has always been the rock of the family
I come from two people that I cherish
Two people I want to always keep proud
I come from the “Taylor’s, Calhoun’s and Beek’s”
I may come from Creashea and Dorian
but my name comes from
Dorian and the memory of Patricia Ann and Carol Ann
I come from a family and a place
I will never want to change
No matter how crazy they are
I come from a place that made me
WHO
I
AM
TODAY
