Love

Beauty in a single syllable
The word rolls off your tongue
Just like the way a wave rolls on to shore,
Over and over, even after it is sent away and pulled back
It doesn’t give up
Love doesn’t give up

Wander through the woods of this word
Many different aspects appear
You’ll witness the sadness in love.
You’ll witness the happiness in love.
You’ll witness the pain in love.

You see, darling, love stains you.
Just as an artist paints delicate strokes on a canvas, ever so lightly,
There is always a mark.
Because you can dance as carefully as you want across the floor,
But you will never walk away without leaving any scuffs.
Just as love never goes without leaving a few dents.

The smell of love is blissful, yet lies in perfect harmony with a stench that overwhelms you.
Like an odor that engulfs you.
Making you feel trapped
Yet you know, you’d rather put up with it, than be without it.

Love is the chirping of birds in the morning.
Angered that your sleep has been interrupted,
Yet content with the fact you woke up to this exquisite beauty

Love is bittersweet.
Just as there is bad with good,
And good in the bad
There will always be love
to find you a way
