The Poetry Soup

I write poetry the way
My mom would make soup
I start out with the broth
That has the main thought
The longer I write the more things at gets added
My favorite poems are the ones
That makes me remember
Something I thought was long gone That would be the macaroni
In my soup of thoughts
My inspirations are the spices
That my mom would find at the store But I find them in pictures and old box’s with dried flowers
