A Passing Storm
Let me be a storm,
an infrequent shower.
Liquid starlight transform
among my teardrops.
Damp eyes peek
below cloud like extremities,
to watch you stand
under purple umbrella,
dotted with rain.
Face untouched.
Oh let me be a cloud.
My face a robin’s egg.
So you could wait for rain to pass,
Old shell to crack,
and painted smile raise
upon an early sun.
