Ode to Frozen Hearts

I want your heart
I need your mind
For, darling, can't you see
The part in you that you fear most
Is what you love in me
You need my smile
Want my eyes
All green and dark and cold
But one is happiness present
And one is pain foretold
So lose yourself not in my eyes
And I shall not your heart
But place your hand on top of mine
And still we won't be apart
But the time will come to let me go
And I the same to you
No letters shall we ever send
No broken pieces shall we mend
Once our love is through
