It's Hard

It’s hard to be positive
That everything will be okay
When everything is so hard
And not going your way.
Sometimes I wish that I could escape
Into the books that I read
Because then I would know
That someone would like me.
I could have tea with Elizabeth Bennet
Or lunch with Scarlett O’hera
Maybe stop by Harry’s place
To have a bit of butterbeer.
But instead I’m here
All alone in the world
With nothing but my thoughts
To satisfy my soul.
And that will be enough
At least for today
For it’s hard not to be hopeful
That everything will be okay.
