God forbid, I, a female
Should form my own opinions
Should I conjure my own thoughts
And create my own fantasy,
Lest I stray from the Divine Path
of dull housewife's duties
And the picturesque portrayal of servitude.
One would be met with extreme hostilities
from those who act equal in daylight.
Demand respect to be damned to hell!
Act with self worth and be shown none!
Speak out against blatant misogyny,
To hear indignant shouts of
"I treat you the same, now do your duties.
Act with utter respect, grace, and mindlessness.
Don't stay in your room and read!
Your feeble, girlish mind Can't Cope.
You are below us!
You are below us!
You are not free and
You Are Below Us!"
My genitalia apparently assigns my place.
Oh, we all laugh but
I'd like you to look at your mother's face.

So Big Brother, have your fun watching
Because I abide by your rules no more.
Your standards have entrenched me
For far too long and too deep.
I have a Voice
I Have A Voice.
I need to be heard.
I have no listeners here
Not in your patriarchal ears,
So full of hidden inequality.
Your minds look like complicated equations
But you can't find the answer
Your obvious masculinity
Disavows you from asking for help
(Perhaps a woman mathematician could assist?)

So please,
Do not talk to me of not knowing answers
Of not understanding or relating
I am not Foolish
My feelings are Valid and
I Have A VOICE.
I have no intention of sitting down,
Shutting up,
Or making you your god damned sandwich.
Just Treat Me As An Equal
Treat Me as an Equal
treat me as an Equal.

please
