Monster
Monsters under my bed
Monsters in my head
Every night I go to sleep
My mind and soul they try to keep
A new trick every night
To try to install more fright
Some nights they kill those I love
They are what I grow sick of
I wake up nails to my face
They left marks I wish to erase
They follow me nightly
Conjure images unsightly
Finally dawn hits
There a beetle sits
I take his soul
Because I lack self-control
What I don’t know
One day it will hurt my ego
The monsters know with glee
The real Monster is Me
