In the End

Fears of reflections

timid rejections
lifeless injections
until we're perfect

Sacrificial meals
a lovely disease
juvenile mindset
neverending
until we're perfect

Inserted into my life
an authentic soul
vicious vicar slamming me back

how dare you?
how dare you?
alter my thoughts
change how I see

I lent you my eyes

now view me

I watch what I say

given you my words

previously locked

stamped

sealed

forced away

how pretty, how lovely

my dear, don't you say?

we move
we sway

no altercations

rolling

flowing

together

Sometimes we sit

we think
alone
how did we manage?

staring out the window

up at the stars
or maybe not.

were we a struggle?

fogged minds deliver erroneous answers

erroneous answers

But then, I hadn't met you

hadn't met you

and in the end...

I didn't need to.
