Falling from the Same Sky
Raindrops blur my view of the city through the dirty window.
I wonder how it would feel to be one of them,
how it would feel to slide down a window pane,
or fall into the salty ocean in the middle of a storm,
or plop down onto someone's head,
wetting their hair so that it's matted to their skin.
But then I realize,
I am a raindrop of sorts.
I am one of many,
and there are certainly others like me.
Looking out of their city windows,
looking out at the blurred lights and wet pavement,
wondering how it would feel to be a raindrop.
We're all just raindrops falling from the same dark sky.
