You and I
When I first saw you in the crowded room
My cheeks stung and glowed in a scarlet hue
My heart commenced to go baBOOM
It was no surprise that I thought of you
I try to snap back to life, but I can’t
My attention and focus you’ve taken
Far away, blown kisses to me you grant
I laugh and look away but I’m shaken.
Why won’t your honey eyes stop searching mine?
Is this what we know as liking and love?
Now, two months later our hands intertwine.
Our hearts beat like the flight of a white dove.
My lips spill all to you, I cannot hide.
The way the world now smiles so bright.
