love.always
silent suffering.
muffled cries through the dark night.
bombs explode,
projecting hate.
our brothers and sisters
betraying
each other.
using the lord's name
as reason,
as an excuse.
must there always be war?
must there always be
anger and sadness?
must we always judge our comrades
by the name of their god,
the color of their skin or
the sound of their name?
prejudiced demons lurk in our shadows.
searching for a way into our hearts.
history sews the seeds in our brain.
that grow the lies and accusations
of other's thoughts.
seeds that spread like ivy
that never seems to die.
disgrace shadows over these
corrupted souls.
healing over soft
hearts with black
cement.
rewiring the brain.
damaging beyond
repair.
yes, there will
always be war.
yes, there will
always be sorrow and loss.
but, dearest, i will
always
be rooting for
love.
