The water moves upon the rocks,
It quenches each one's thirst.
It falls like curtains coming alive,
Mistaken for a shimmering silk.
The surface is unbreakable,
Reflecting what's above.
A mirror for the beautiful,
A curse for those made plain.
Each came with what they knew,
But left with what they saw.

Rain inspired this poem, I was sitting in my porch while the rain pelted the windows and i thought, Water is so beautiful and then I thought of how peaceful a still pond surface and waterfall would be and how in the old days thats what they used to see what they looked like...water,so I tried to capture it in words. I hope people will realize there beauty is on the inside ,the people in the poem were unaware of how they looked until they went to the water ,they went there judging themselves by what was on the inside but left either thinking they were more beautiful and better than others or feeling less than perfect and plain and lost what little self-confidence they had.
