the sky fades: baby blue
oatmeal vomit
gray yarn.
my mind wanders. leaping from topic
to topic as frogs do on lily pads.
thunder storm
bright white
ocean blue
lavender.
night approaches as subtle as
the moments that slip with ease
through our weak fingertips.
memories float innocently in
the air. inhale.
e x h a l e.
if only darkness could stay
forever. its mysterious shade
hiding our faces as we confront
or confess.
as we cuddle or weep.
as we embrace company or
simple sleep in solitude.
night.
our believed wishes and wants
brought to life by the only bit of
imagination we have left.
swiftly kidnapped by dreams and
whisked away.
a wonderland that should
have lasted forever.
but all good things must come to an end;
don't they?
